Harvey Durham was hired at Longview High School
in July of 1994. He is Director of Instrumental Music for
the Longview Independent School District. He directs the
marching band during the fall, and the symphonic band in the spring semester.
Mr. Durham holds a Bachelors of Music Education from East Texas
State University. He was the principal tuba player of the
University of East Texas Wind Ensemble for two years and Student
Conductor of the East Texas Wind Ensemble his senior year.
He was an officer in the Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia National Music
Fraternity and graduated with honors.

Mr. Durham's twenty-eight years of teaching have included
experience in the Ore City, New Boston, Ennis and Longview
school districts. His bands have consistently made
Sweepstakes in UIL sanctioned events and
frequently earns
best in class awards at many national music festivals.
Mr. Durham is a member of the Texas Music Educators
Association, Texas Bandmasters Association, Texas Music
Adjudicators Association and Phi Beta Mu.

Louis Robinett was hired by the Longview Independent School
District
in July of 1994. He is the Assistant Band Director for
Longview High School, assists at Forest Park and Foster Middle Schools,
and is the director of the Hudson PEP Band. Mr. Robinett
holds a Bachelors of Music Education degree from Northwestern State
University in Natchitoches, Louisiana. There he served in the
Student Government Association as one of the Supreme Court Justice.
He
was also selected to represent the university as a freshman
orientation officer, or "Insider", for the summer of 1985 and as a member
NSU's recruiting organization "The Entertainers". He was a
charter member/officer of the Kappa Kappa Psi
National Band Fraternity, a section leader for three
years and the Drum Major of the Demon Marching Band in the fall of
1988.

Mr. Robinett's seventeen years of teaching have included
experience in the Carthage, Mabank, Joshua, Ennis and Longview
Independent School Districts. His bands have consistently made first
divisions in UIL Concert and Sightreading contests and
frequently earns
best in class awards at many national music festivals.
Mr. Robinett is a member of the Texas Music Educators
Association, Texas Bandmasters Association, and an active member
of the Texas Music
Adjudicators Association. He is a Christian and a member
of the Crossroads Community Church. He credits his
success to God and is blessed with the support of his wife Meredith, and two children, Robby and
Lila.

Grant Woodson was hired by the Longview Independent
School District in July of 2007. He currently works at
Forest Park International Baccalaureate Magnet School of Global
Studies, Judson Middle School, and Longview High School as
Assistant Band Director and Assistant Jazz Band Director. Mr.
Woodson has earned a Bachelors of Music Education from
Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana.
There he was a member of many on campus student organizations.
He was a section leader for the "Spirit of Northwestern" for
three years, a member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity, a
founding member of the "Prather Punks" (a student-led cheering
section at all men's and women's basketball games), a Resident
Assistant, Blue Key International Honor Society, Who's Who Among
American College Students, and was an Academic All-American
Scholar. Mr. Woodson also graduated with honors. Prior
to being employed with the LISD, Mr. Woodson worked in the Mexia
Independent School District in Mexia, Texas. His band
there made it's first "1" in over seven years. Mr. Woodson is
a member of the Texas Music Educators Association, Texas
Bandmasters Association, and Music Educators National
Conference. He is married to Mrs. Lauri Woodson who works
at East Texas Baptist University in Marshall, Texas. |
Al Slatter been employed with the Longview Independent School District for six years and served as woodwind
instructor for two years prior to that. He currently works
at Foster Middle School, Judson Middle School and Longview High
School as assistant director and as beginner woodwind
instructor. He also is the High School and Middle
School Jazz Band coordinator/instructor that meets after school. He received his music training from the United States Army
and from the University of North
Texas. He has been a member of many professional music
groups such as Dallas Woodwind Symphony, Irving Symphony
Orchestra, Mesquite Symphony Orchestra, U. S. Army Band Ft. McPherson, U. S. Army Band Ft. Heidelberg.
Mr. Slatter is a member of the Texas Music Educators
Association, International Association of Jazz Educators and
International Clarinet Society. He has been a clinician
for many Texas Bands and assists in many aspects of the TMEA
All-Region music selection and adjudication process. He
has published a method book for the development of beginner band
students entitled "A Scale Routine for Band".
Mr. Slatter was a woodwind and jazz professor for
Northwestern State University, woodwind specialist for Ennis
I.S.D., Henderson I.S.D., Waxahachie I.S.D., North Lake Junior
College, Mountain View Junior College, Cedar Hill I.S.D.,
Skyline I.S.D., Hill Crest I.S.D., and Walker Middle
School.
