The Duke University Talent Identification Program has announced that thirteen LISD students have demonstrated their advanced academic achievement and have been named Duke Scholars. All thirteen of these students are from Foster Middle School! These students earned state recognition based upon their SAT scores. To earn state recognition, students had to score at or above 520 on either the math or verbal section of the SAT. Students qualifying for state recognition are in the top twenty - five percent of the Duke University Talent Search pool. This is a significant achievement since the talent pool itself is highly selective and the SAT scores are ones that many high school students would aspire to achieve. The FMS students listed below will receive state recognition at a ceremony in May or June.
