MLA Bibliographic Format for Language Arts and Social Studies

The entries on an MLA "Works Cited" page use hanging indention, with the first line beginning at the margin and each additional line in the entry being indented.  

Books
     Author's last name, first name. Title. City of Publication: Publisher's Name,             Year of Publication.
     Book with author
           Petty, Kate. Helicopters. New York: F. Watts, 1989. 
     Book without author 
           Supermachines. New York: Marshall Cavendish Corp., 1989.
 Encyclopedias
     Print Encyclopedia
          Author of article if given. "Article Title." Encylopedia Title. Date of publication.
          Reber, Bill. "Helicopter." Academic American. 1990.
    Online Encyclopedia
          Author. "Article Title." Encyclopedia Title. Date of publication. Publisher. 
              Date of Access. <Electronic Address>
        Gores, Harold B. "Helicopter." New Book of Knowledge. 2001. Grolier.
