Lobo Stadium will be closed to the public beginning May 22 so that preparations can be made for Longview High School commencement exercises at the facility, according to Athletic Director John King.

Graduation is set to begin at 7:30 p.m. on May 25. The stadium will be reopened to the public on May 26 at 12 p.m., King said.

Very important information for seniors:  Graduation Practice will be Wednesday, May 23rd and Thursday, May 24th at 10:00 AM.  It is very important for you to be there.

·                     Attention Lobos: Our state qualifying social studies team needs your help next year! We are losing several seniors and need some fresh blood to help us take state next year.  If you like watching the Discovery or History channel, and if history really fascinates you, then the UIL social studies team is for you. Even though it is flex, and you may not be with us on campus, come up for a quick meeting Wednesday, May 30th to room 117 at 3:45 to learn more about our competition, our great team spirit, and leave your contact information with our coach, Miss Adams. ·                     Congratulations to Dashaila Charleston and Jacoya Moore for clocking their 1000th hour in Cosmetology. These students are now eligible to take their written and practical exam through the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation to obtain a License.

·                     Coach Clay would like to congratulate Eric Hawkins, Nick Young, Nathan Jones, Jared Love, and Deontre Wilson for a great performance at the UIL State Track Meet in Austin, TX this past weekend. Eric Hawkins Finished 2nd in the state in the 200 meter dash with a time of 20.80, Nick Young Placed 3rd in the state in the 300 meter Hurdles with a time of 37.74, Deontre Wilson Finished 8th in the state in the Discus, and The 4x100 meter relay finished 5th in the state. Great job guys Go LOBOS!

·                     The Physics Six Flags trip has changed due to in climate weather in Dallas.  Students will be going to the Dallas Galleria in the morning then to the Dallas World Aquarium for the afternoon.  This will change our return time from Dallas to 5 pm and arriving Longview about 8 pm.

·                     Viewette Revue tickets will be sold during all lunches starting this Wednesday at a table in the breezeway. Tickets are $5 and show specific for either Thursday, Friday, or Saturday. You can also purchase tickets from any Viewette or the Viewette office. Tickets will be $7 at the door, so get your $5 tickets early!

·                     Seniors, there is a form called “Request for Final Transcript” that will be located at the Receptionist’s desk from now until the end of school.  Please complete this form if you plan to attend college in the fall.   Return the completed form to the Registrar as soon as possible.   Read the form carefully, as it has very important information regarding your final transcript. 

·                     Alley Fest 2012 is May 11 thru the 13th – Volunteers Needed!Alley Fest is just a few weeks away and they are seeking great volunteers to help make this year’s Alley Fest a huge success.  Many shifts are available on Friday night and all day Saturday.  All volunteers receive a Free T-shirt.  The Volunteer Information Sheet is located at the receptionist’s desk.  Please complete the form and return it back to Mrs. Watson at the Receptionist’s desk by May 7th at 7:55 AM or call 903-295-4245.  

·                     If you ordered a Six Flags Physics Shirt you money is due NOW.  Please turn it in to your Physics teacher or Mrs. Smith in room 233.  

·                     LISTEN UP: Anyone interested in playing tennis next year please go to room 113 by little theater and see Coach Anders.  

·                     Attention Global seniors:  You may pay your $10 fee for the Senior Banquet in the Global Office.  Deadline is May 14th 12pm.

·                     Fellowship Club is a gathering of Christians of any and all denominations to talk and grow in their faith. Meet in Mr. Hull’s room every Tuesday morning at 7:15 for fun, faith, and fellowship!  

·                     Students needing to catch up on your credits are reminded that Lead Academy is available to you from 4:00 to 7:00 PM.  If you need transportation, bus 26 will pick you up in the breezeway after school every day.

·                    After school detention is on Tuesday and Thursdays from 4:00 to 5:00 PM in the Cafeteria – failure to show will result in ISS the next day. 

·                   Seniors, you will need to come by Vicki White’s office located behind the receptionist’s desk to check on any outstanding fines.  You will not receive your diploma if these fines are not taken care of before graduation.

·                    We now have a "Tardy Center" all tardies and sign in/out will be conducted there.  It is located where the previous attendance office was. 

·                    Seniors, if you are receiving a scholarship, you MUST complete and return a scholarship reporting form to Mrs. Ray in the College and Career Center by Monday, May 7, if you plan to be included in the Scholarship Awards Night to be held on May 14. Mrs. Ray has no way of knowing about scholarships you are receiving from your college or university, and you may have been contacted from a local donor who has not told Mrs. Ray about the scholarship.  PLEASE turn in the forms! (must read) 

We would like to remind all of our students that our school will not tolerate bullying.  If you have a problem, please do not take matters into your own hands or feel afraid to talk with someone about it.  If it occurs in a classroom be sure to let the teacher know of that situation.  See an assistant principal, a counselor or any other staff member immediately.
