Technology Scope and Sequence

The Longview Independent School District Instructional Technology Department believes technology supports the district’s strategic plan by ensuring our graduates will have a firm foundation in the technology based skills that they will need to be successful, productive citizens.

The Longview Independent School District Technology Scope and Sequence is aligned with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills for technology. It was developed to assist teachers in preparing our students to live and work in a society that demands the use of technology-based applications such as word processing, databases, spreadsheets and presentation software. This site consists of two parts. The first (Select by Topic menu) graphically illustrates when each concept is introduced and at what grade students should be independent users. The second (Select by Grade menu) focuses on specific skills for each grade level. Each grade level has skills listed by six weeks (Select by Six Weeks menu), including suggested resources and activities, and assessment suggestions.
