LISD Technology Proficiencies

The Longview ISD Technology Plan 2008 - 2010, continues the previously established comprehensive plan for the use of technology to support student academic achievement, exemplary instruction and district administrative functions

Goal 2 of the plan states, "all LISD educational staff will demonstrate proficiencies in the use and application of technology tools and resources to support teaching, learning and administrative services."

District technology proficiencies are aligned to state and national education technology standards.

LISD Wireless Lab Request

  • Wireless lab 1 consisting of a cart on wheels containing 20 wireless laptops, networked laser printer and projection device

  • Educators wishing to request the use of this equipment must complete the Wireless Lab Request Form and email it to Pat Johnson, patjohnson@lisd.org, at least two weeks prior to the requested dates.

LISD Digital Camera Request
  • Digital Camera Lab Calendar - Check here to determine availability. Note blue entries indicate digital camera lab checked out.
  • The digital camera lab consists of 14 Sony Cybershot DCR-W50 digital cameras, 14 512mb flash cards, 21 lithium ion batteries, 14 battery chargers, 14 cables to connect camera to a computer, Domke padded camera bag, 1 container on wheels.
  • Educators wishing to request the use of this equipment must complete a Digital Camera Lab Request Form and email it to Pat Johnson, patjohnson@lisd.org, at least two weeks prior to the requested dates. The camera lab may be reserved for a maximum of two weeks.
  • The educator checking out the camera lab must collect the equipment from Pat Johnson, room 153 at the Education Support Center, 1301 E. Young Street, 903.381.2229, and return it to the same location by the end of the reserved time.

LISD iPod Lab
  • iPod Lab - Check here for availability
  • Contents - 24 5th generation video ipods in durable cases, 1 MacBook laptop, assorted cables, audio recorder attachments
  • Educators wishing to request the use of this equipment must complete the iPod Lab Request Form and email it to Pat Johnson, patjohnson@lisd.org, at least two weeks prior to the requested dates.

Internet Resources

Thinkfinity - High quality, standards-based Internet content and professional development for K-12 teachers and students throughout the US

United Streaming - This resource is a web-based digital video delivery system form Discover Education. It includes a library of K-12 digital video/video clips, clip art gallery and image gallery. Videos cover core-curriculum subjects and are correlated to the TEKS. The site requires a login and password. Your campus ITS will have this information.
